This week has been all about the hula hooping and the detoxing! As it turns out that’s been quite a nice combination, I’m sure the effect of the hoop massaging my stomach and organs supports the whole detox thing.

I now have this hula hoop from Tesco:

It works really well and is a nice weight and size for me, but it is a bit plain. I want a sparkly one next!

Workouts this week:

  • Saturday– Rest
  • Sunday – Brisk walk – about 30 minutes
  • Monday – Gym – 10 mins cross trainer // squats + chest press // 10 mins step machine // deadlift + rows // 10 mins bike // sit ups + shoulder presses + 1 hour hula hooping lesson
  • Tuesday –  20 minute Yoga with weights  video from Yoga Download + hooping
  • Wednesday – 20 minute Yoga detox challenge flow class from Yoga Download + hooping
  • Thursday –  MTV Power Yoga DVD + hooping
  • Friday – more hula hooping!

Since we did the class on Monday and bought our own hoops, we’ve been having 5-10 minute breaks up in the training room hooping, and I’ve been doing it at home as well. It’s a really nice way to take a break from work. I am hooked! I’ve also been choosing yoga over the gym while I’m on the detox plan.

You all know I love my stripes! I can’t believe how long my hair is getting too, I urgently need a trim.

I started the Raw till 4 plan on Wednesday. I was offered the chance to try this out by Raw to Door, and was really interested in giving it ago. I don’t believe that this kind of thing is right for everyone, but I’m very happy that it’s a good thing for me and as always I’m listening to my body while I’m doing it.

On Monday and Tuesday I transitioned to more detox friendly eats:

IMG_4180Blended frozen blueberries and almond milk with almond butter and coconut

IMG_4228Green smoothie with spinach, banana, vanilla protein powder, almond milk, greens super foods topped with ground seeds and almond butter

The Raw till 4 plan includes 4 juices and then a vegan, wheat free meal in the evening. I have to admit I am astonished at how not hungry I have been. I’ll talk more about that when I do a full review, but here’s a glimpse at just some of the tasty juices and meals I’ve had:

This was buckwheat pasta with roasted peppers, pine nuts and a cashew basil sauce. I’ve also had this Pad Thai with asparagus:

I’ve been on a huge coconut water kick! I’ve been having this in addition to the juices in the morning. I’ve also been making coconut water ‘coffee’ by blending it with ice and dandy blend. So tasty. Of course the hooping features highly on the Love List this week too! Also…
