Last week I was contacted by a team at Flora Pro.activ to see if I would like to join in their recipe challenge. I received the ingredients to make Baked Apples with Ginger and Orange, the recipe for which can be found here.
I found the recipe really easy to follow and the results were delicious! This would be such a good recipe for over the Christmas holidays. Flora Pro.activ contains plant sterols which have been shown to reduce cholesterol. Personally I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a bit of butter, but if cholesterol is a concern for you, then this is certainly a delicious way to eat some of that Flora Pro.activ!
Flora have plenty of healthy recipes on their recipes page if you are looking for more inspiration!
This recipe would also work really well with some naturally sweetened sweet mince pie filling as the stuffing too, mmm!
Have you tried a baked apple recipe before?
Wow this looks delicious!
Love the idea of mince pie filling in the apple :)
I think I’m, going to have to try and make that over the holidays!
Yum! Baked apples are definitely one of my favourite desserts or on top of my breakfast.
Mmm never thought about them for breakfast but of course! They would be perfect :-)
Love a baked apple!
I love baked apples, and am definitely making some over the christmas period, using the mince pie filling is a great idea!
I think I’m going to have to make a sweet mince pie version now!
Oooh yes, baked apples with crunchy nuts inside are great for this time of the year. Will have to add this to my Christmas baking list!
They are so delicious, and I’m glad I’m not the only one with a Christmas baking list!
These look great. I havent made a baked apple in years. Can one use any apple or are some better than others to use?
I used a cooking apple but I’m sure that any apple would do!
I absolutely love baked apples! My Mum used to make them when we were younger, with golden syrup, rum, butter, sultanas – so good!
