I find writing a recap of 2013 slightly surreal. When I think of some of the things I’ve been doing this year it’s crazy! It has been a pretty good year, I don’t think it topped 2012 as that was an epic year for me, but still very good indeed…
Back in February I went down to London to be filmed talking to Gok Wan:
I also met him again in May! Earlier in the year I was featured in Healthy Magazine as a healthy hero:
We’ve had a couple of holidays including Berlin in September:
While in Berlin I met up with the lovely Claire and Christina, as well as seeing several other bloggers down in Brighton including Christina again, Tamzin, Lara and Lucie. Such amazing girls! Brighton is just awesome every time we visit:
I got another tattoo while I was down there, an arrow shooting through the stars on my arm, and then back in August I got my mandala tattoos on the back of my legs:
In the summer I got a new iMac and spruced up my desk as I started to work from home more…
I learned how to hula hoop!
and I did a 5 day juice cleanse…
I’ve blogged a few lovely recipes too! Here’s some of my faves:
From left to right starting at the top: sweet potato chocolate chip almond butter chunk bars // chicken, quinoa and edamame salad with peanut lime dressing // berry baked oatmeal // home made chai spice // coconut maca snack balls // caramel apple cake // Warm Harissa Chickpea, Butternut and Courgette Salad // roasted vegetable korma // sweet potato pancakes // raw chocolate dipped strawberry ice lollies // feed your face smoothie and face mask // raw salted caramel sauce // raw chai spiced cheesecake with pistachio walnut crust // 5 spice pork lettuce cups // turkey taco chilli // lentil and feta salad with chilli, lemon and mint
My businesses, Uniquely Healthy and the Feel Good Factory, have gone from strength to strength, something I am thankful for every single day. I’ve had the privilege of working with some truly amazing women supporting them to become healthier and happier. I wrote my first e book and every time someone tells me how useful the Super Conscious Living Programme has been for them I am filled with so much joy, I know I have discovered my purpose in life and that is incredible.
I’ve loved working with communities as well, and that is something which is going to develop further in 2014:
Looking back at what was on my wish list for 2013 I’ve done really well. I completed my health coaching certification, Keeping Healthy Getting Stylish is still one of the top health blogs in the UK, my businesses are going well, my finances are in better shape, we went abroad, we’ve had some brilliant nights out, and I’m finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with my hormonal issues. I have to say, until I listed all of those things out like that and compared them to what I had written in my wish list a year ago, I didn’t quite realise how much I have achieved. I love having this little blog as a way to record my life!
So as 2013 ends I have a really good feeling about 2014. It’s hard to explain, but I have this strange gut feeling that it’s going to be a really special year, here’s hoping!
This is my last post for 2013 and I’d just like to say thank you to every single one of you than takes the time to read this blog and join me on my journey. From the very bottom of my heart, thank you all. I hope you have a brilliant New Years Eve and an awesome 2014! I have some great things planned blog wise, so stay tuned!

Looks like an awesome year! I am really happy for you, Laura. It’s so great that you could make a profession from what you love to do. Have a great New Year’s Eve and an awesome start of 2014!
Thanks Ksenija! Hope you have a great NYE!
Happy new year Laura! What an amazing year you have had- I agree I think having a blog is great to look back on what you have achieved, otherwise you would forget so many things. Your community events always look so fantastic- just the sort of thing that children and families should be going to.
Wow you have created so many amazing recipes too!
Have a great new year’s eve! x
Thanks Maria! Happy new year to you too, hope you enjoy yourself this evening :-)
I read the 2012 post as well and I’m curious as to why you’d rate 2012 above 2013 – you achieved a lot then, but comparing the two posts it seems as though this year is even better. You’ve made so much progress in many aspects of your life. I hope the upward trend continues and 2014 is the best year yet :)
xxx
Thanks Jess, you know until you commented I hadn’t really questioned myself on that. I guess it was because my 30th birthday, the Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympics happened in 2012 so parties and fun things like that, but overall I think you are right that I’ve achieved more in 2013. Haha, I feel a bit differently about it all now, thanks! Hope you have a good day today and a great New Year xxx
You busy bee. So inspiring to see what you’ve been up to! Bet it feels good to look back on. I love that recipe recap layout, it all looks so bright and appetising. xxx
